COVID-19

Since our closure on 17 March we have been very busy making TimeTwisters look fabulous. Every area within the play centre has been cleaned, sanitised and redecorated and we’re sure you’ll notice and appreciate the changes.

Sadly, Scottish Government policy requires that we remain closed.

Everyone’s health and safety continues to be our top priority and while we are taking several steps to keep everyone safe (as detailed below) we cannot open when the Scottish Government have specifically mandated that we remain closed.

Reduced Capacity
Comprehensive screens at both reception and the café. Custom made for TimeTwisters, these have been done by the same company that made and installed all of the screens inside the Scottish Parliament – they really are the Rolls Royce of Perspex screens!
Visitor numbers will be very limited initially and will only increase in line with Scottish Government guidelines. Initially our total capacity will be less than 50% of what it used to be – and this includes babies, toddlers, children, parents and staff – hence the reason for a nominal charge required for babies and adults as well as normal charges for the different age groups of children
We have removed several tables from both our upstairs and downstairs seating areas so you will immediately notice how much more space there is. We have spaced our tables such that nobody sitting down is face to face with anyone else (except those at their own table) at a distance of less than 2m – and often much more.

New Booking Processes
In order to manage visitor numbers and plan for the amount of staff we need, all visits must be pre-booked. This can be done from the website – just click the Book a Play button at the top of the page then select the date when you’d like to visit. The system will automatically show the packages available on that date.
To further encourage this discounts will be available for customers booking a play session 7 or more days in advance with a further level of discount available for booking 14 days in advance.
Every booking will automatically be for up to 2-hours with designated start and end times. Play sessions will start on the hour and every half hour and will be limited to the be ¼ of our available capacity in order to minimise the amount of queuing at reception.

Enhanced Cleaning and Sanitisation
Hand Sanitiser Stations are available at 5 locations within the play centre and it will be required that every visitor and member of staff sanitise their hands when entering TimeTwisters. The specific product we use offers protection on your hands for up to 6-hours for extra piece of mind
All staff will be temperature checked when arriving for work and anyone with an elevated temperature will be sent home. We don’t currently plan to temperature check every customer coming in, but ask that anyone exhibiting any symptoms to please stay at home.
Fogging – We are fogging the play centre regularly with a special solution that gives a 30-day layer of protection to the surfaces that it comes into contact with. This product has been certified as highly effective (99.999%) against enveloped viruses (which includes SARS-COV-2 aka COVID-19). This testing was carried out at the Blutest laboratories in Glasgow in July 2020.
Staff will be out cleaning high traffic touch points in the public areas (gates, door handles etc.) and within the play structure (monkey rings, climbing wall, grab points etc.) on a regular basis. The sanitising product used is based on the same compounds as we use for fogging, so each application, though safe to people is highly effective against bacteria and viruses and puts down a barrier that gives 30-days protection. Despite that additional layer of protection the staff will be undertaking such cleaning daily to make absolutely certain that every part of the play centre is not just clean but biologically sanitised.

Other Enhanced Processes
We have also developed an App that will soon be available in both the Apple App Store and on Google Play that will enable customers to order and pay for anything on our food menu directly from their tables – thus minimising queues at the café while at the same time being more convenient for customers. You will automatically receive a receipt for your order directly to your email as well.

All the best,
Andy (owner)
